Delhi Police bust module involved in online sale of illegal firearms

New Delhi, November 22 (ANI): With the arrest of an accused Hitesh Singh, Delhi Police special cell busted a module involved in selling illegal weapons using social media. During Social Media monitoring, police noticed profiles that posted illegal arms and weapons. With promptness, police initiated an investigation and through technical surveillance and human intelligence, identified an active profile. A deal was struck with the accused on social media. During talks, the weapon videos were shared by the accused and the advance money for the same was deposited in the bank account provided by him. The police apprehended the accused from Manesar, Haryana, when he came to receive the remaining amount. He had connections with anti-national elements across the border as well. Accused turned out to be a history-sheeter who spent time in several jails of Rajasthan. During his under trial prison term, he developed connections with other criminals. Further, he revealed that he used to cater to notorious criminals.
