Delhi Police celebrates International Women’s Day by felicitating 25 women personnel

New Delhi, March 08 (ANI): Actualising the theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”, Delhi Police celebrated International Women’s Day - 2022 in true spirit for empowering women. Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana administered the 'Meri Beti Mera Abimaan' oath on this occasion. During the event, the CP Delhi felicitated 25 women personnel from the rank of Constable to ACP for their exemplary contribution in various arms of policing. Women from the ‘Sashakti’ team also presented an electrifying demo of various self-defence techniques on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the CP Delhi renewed Delhi Police's commitment for ensuring a safe & secure environment for women, girls & other vulnerable sections of the society. In this direction, the self-defence training program of Delhi Police is doing a wonderful job. It has trained 4.5 Lakh women and girls over the last year. In total, more than 17 lakhs have been trained, which has brought Delhi Police into Limca Book of Records. The CP Delhi emphasised that the self-defence training inculcates self-belief and strength in women which are reflected in their day to day activities too.
