Delhi Police felicitate volunteers for their social work

New Delhi, December 6 (ANI) : On International Day of Volunteers, the Central District of Delhi Police organised a program to felicitate volunteers to recognise their efforts and responsibility towards society and the needy.Around 100 volunteers including senior citizens, doctors, self-defence trainers and others attended the program. Shweta Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, felicitated the volunteers by giving them certificates for their selfless service to society in different categories like COVID management, environment protection, road safety management, crime control and self-defence training to women and children, active participation in blood donation programs and awareness drives in the district.On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to volunteers for being a helping hand of Central District Police. Highlighting the importance of volunteers in society, she also highlighted the importance of volunteers in engaging communities. DCP Chauhan pitched for a people-centric movement to help build a better and safer future for us all.She also encouraged volunteers for their commendable work during the COVID-19 pandemic and advised them to work in the area of women safety.
