Delhi Police organise special programs to celebrate International Day of the Girl Child

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): International Day of the Girl Child was dedicated to the celebration of women empowerment -“APARAJITA” by Delhi Police on October 11. Multiple programs were organised in the North District of Delhi Police with maximum participation of woman officers. Minimum one picket with all-woman staff was deployed in Police Stations of North District. All-women staff also conducted checking of buses, verification of guest houses, hotels. They also carried out foot patrolling in markets and other high footfall areas. Apart from scooty patrolling in crime-prone areas of the North District, women cops also interacted with students of Delhi University. A special combing and search operation against criminals was conducted by the all-women team of Delhi Police at Sarai Rohilla area. A "Nukkad Natak" on women safety and general awareness was also organised in the Civil Lines area. Under the “Nirbheek Scheme” of the Delhi Police, woman staff of the North District also conducted counselling sessions at various cluster areas and sensitised the girls about 'Good Touch-Bad Touch'.
