Dipped in festive mood, people across country celebrate ‘Eid-ul-Adha’

New Delhi/Mumbai/Ajmer (Rajasthan)/Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Aug 12 (ANI): Devotees thronged at mosques to offer prayers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. People were seen offering ‘namaz’ at Delhi’s Jama Masjid on August 12. People celebrated Eid-ul-Adha with great zest and zeal in various parts of the country. On this auspicious occasion, Muslims offer prayers at the mosque, sacrifice goats, wear new clothes and greet each other. Later, the Muslim families feast on the goat’s meat and also distribute it to the poor and needy people. Eid-al-Adha feast dishes include mutton biryani, mutton keema and bhuni kaleji. Among the desserts there are sheer kurma and kheer.
