Embassy of India in Kathmandu celebrates Vishwa Hindi Diwas with Poetry & Cultural Events

Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 11 (ANI): The Embassy of India in Kathmandu on Friday celebrated Vishwa Hindi Diwas at its premises, highlighting the global significance of the Hindi language. Students from several Kathmandu schools participated in Hindi poetry recitations and skits, presenting impactful compositions on thought-provoking themes. Cultural performances by artists from the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center added vibrancy to the event. On the occasion, the India–Nepal Maitri Kavi Sammelan was also organised, where distinguished poets mesmerised the audience with Hindi poetry. The event was graced by Mangal Prasad Gupta, MP and President of Hindi Manch Nepal; Dr. Gopal Thakur, Chairman, Language Commission, Nepal; and Nisha Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Nepal Music and Drama Pragyana Pratishthan. Vishwa Hindi Diwas commemorates the first World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur on 10 January 1975 and is observed globally every year to promote Hindi.
