Faculty on strike as cash crunch Karakoram International University fails to pay salaries

Karakoram, Gilgit Baltistan, 03 JULY 2023: - Strikes at colleges and universities in Pakistan occupied Gilgit Baltistan is a new normal. At the Karakoram International University, the teachers and other staff members are on a strike due to non-payment of their salaries. Their anger mounted high when they celebrated the Eid-ul-Azha festival without any money in hand. The Karakoram National University is facing a severe budgetary deficit and is not able to disburse salaries to the staff members.
