Free Angioplasty, Stroke Care as Surat Hospital Launches Advanced Cath Lab

Surat New Civil Hospital has launched Gujarat’s first advanced Biplane Cath Lab under the Super Speciality Project, marking a major step in affordable public healthcare. Built at a cost of ₹12 crores, the facility will provide free cardiac, neurological and vascular treatments, including angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation and emergency stroke care. Treatments that usually cost up to ₹50,000 in private hospitals will now be accessible free of cost for common citizens. Doctors say the advanced biplane technology ensures greater precision, fewer complications and minimally invasive procedures. Initial treatments have already started under Neurology and Radiology departments. The new Cath Lab is expected to benefit thousands of families by bringing advanced healthcare services closer to home in Gujarat.
