Kathmandu (Nepal), Nov 04 (ANI): Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a two-day official visit to Nepal, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and reviewing key areas of cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. Misri was received at Tribhuvan International Airport by officials of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Sudhakar Dalela. On the first day of his visit, Misri paid a courtesy call on Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides discussed ways to further deepen the multifaceted partnership and strengthen the longstanding bonds of friendship between India and Nepal. Undertaken at the invitation of Nepali Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, the visit will provide an opportunity to review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on matters of mutual interest. A key focus is also expected to be preparations for Nepali Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s proposed official visit to New Delhi later this month. India and Nepal share longstanding historical, cultural and religious ties, with cooperation spanning trade, connectivity, hydropower, development projects and security.
