Fraudster arrested for duping Rs 2.5 crore from people

New Delhi, Decmber 20(ANI): Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a wanted and rewarded fraudster Sandeep who had cheated around 2.5 crores from the public by promising them a bonus on their LIC policies. Seven associates of the accused have already been arrested earlier. In the year 2015, Executive Director, of LIC, had filed a complaint, alleging therein that some culprits impersonated themselves as employees of LIC and offered lucrative benefits such as free credit cards, mediclaim benefits of false claims like direct transfer of commission to the policyholders account and bonus transferred to lapsed policies.The policyholders were lured to make payments by cash or cheque in favour of some private agencies or companies. After receiving payment, the culprits stopped contacting policyholders, changed their mobile phones and thereby causing financial loss to customers. A non-bailable warrant has been issued against him by the court of the chief metropolitan magistrate, Patiala House Court, Delhi. A cash reward of Rs 25,000 was also declared for his arrest by Delhi Police.
