Gen Bipin Rawat’s alma mater in Shimla expresses condolences

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Dec 10 (ANI): The death of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat in chopper crash has shocked his alma mater, St Edward’s School, Shimla. General Rawat studied at St Edward's School from 1971 to 1973. Adhishrey Mohan Singh Shaktan, who was a school captain when Rawat visited St Edward's, said that the General encouraged him to join defence forces and serve the nation. “It is a big loss for country, General Rawat had visited the St. Edward's School in 2019 and I was school captain, it was a proud movement for me to welcome him. He encouraged me to join the force, I had promised him to join the defence forces. It is unfortunate that we have lost him, it is a big loss for country and for St Edward's family as well.”
