Govt should run public welfare schemes, this is the right of the people: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan), July 27 (ANI): Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme beneficiary dialogue program was organised at Chief Minister's residence in Jaipur. On this occasion, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot transferred an amount of more than Rs 155 crore directly to the bank accounts of more than 36 lakh beneficiaries in the second phase of the gas cylinder subsidy scheme. During this, the Chief Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries of all the districts through video conference. During this, he said that it is the right of the people that the government should run public welfare schemes. In the budget for the year 2023-24, the Chief Minister had announced to provide gas cylinders to 76 lakh consumers for only Rs 500 under the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme. Selected families in the Ujjwala scheme, as well as BPL category gas connection families are eligible for this scheme. This scheme has been implemented in the state since April 1, 2023. This benefit is being given to the consumers who register in inflation relief camps.
