Govt will enforce strict provision if COVID SOP not followed properly, warns CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan) January 1 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed concern over the rising COVID cases in Jaipur from the past few days. Chief Minister Gehlot virtually reviewed the prevailing COVID situation in Rajasthan from his residence. The Chief Minister directed the officials to take stringent measures to mitigate the spread of the virus. He also highlighted that the government will be forced to take strict precautionary measures if COVID protocols are not followed properly CM Gehlot said that the vaccine is most effective in protecting against the lethality of the infection. on top of that, he said by January 31, the second dose should be mandatorily administered to all the eligible people. The Chief Minister has stressed the misconception among people that the Omicron variant is less lethal, whereas, in reality, it is a very fast-spreading virus. Medical experts believe that the virus which has a high R-value, mutation happens rapidly. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to increase COVID testing and contact tracing. He directed that in the areas where more cases are coming, the system of Containment Zone should be implemented effectively.
