Gujarat: Remote Dang School Becomes Kho-Kho Powerhouse
Aug 05, 2025
Dang (Gujarat) August 05 (ANI): In the tribal village of Biliamba in South Gujarat's Dang district, a silent sports revolution is unfolding. Over 1,000 Kho-Kho players, mostly from tribal families, have been trained under the tireless efforts of teachers Rasik Patel and Vimal Gamit. Despite limited resources, these children are winning medals at district, state, and national levels. Girls are receiving equal opportunities, with many excelling, supported by government sports schemes. A proud moment came when Opina Bhilar represented India in the inaugural Kho-Kho World Cup 2025 in New Delhi. In an age dominated by screens, Biliamba showcases the power of grassroots sports and teacher-led change.
