Gujarat tops India in ZED Certification for MSMEs

Jun 29, 2026

Gujarat has become India's leading state under the Zero Effect, Zero Defect (ZED) Certification Scheme, with 41,556 certified MSMEs, including 9,692 units in Rajkot. The initiative by the Ministry of MSME is helping industries improve product quality, productivity, customer confidence and environmental sustainability. Entrepreneurs say ZED certification has increased repeat orders, strengthened competitiveness and enabled businesses to meet global quality standards through better manufacturing systems and efficient supply chains. Industry leaders believe the scheme will enhance exports, reduce carbon emissions and help Indian manufacturers compete with global leaders such as Japan and Germany. With growing adoption of ZED certification, Gujarat is strengthening its manufacturing ecosystem while contributing to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat through sustainable and high-quality industrial growth.
