Gujarat tops SEZ, Export growth says Additional Secretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) June 2026 (ANI): Highlighting Gujarat's significant contribution to India's export ecosystem, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ajay Bhadoo stated that Gujarat remains the country's most advanced state in terms of exports and hosts the highest number of Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Speaking on the achievements and progress of Gujarat's SEZs and the vision for future growth, Bhadoo noted that exports play a crucial role in employment generation across the state. He said that approximately 20-22 percent of employment is linked to export-driven sectors, underscoring the importance of strengthening industries that create large-scale job opportunities.
