Jul 12, 2025
Gandhinagar (Gujarat), July 12 (ANI): The Namo Lakshmi Yojana, launched in February 2024 by Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, empowers girls from low-income families in Classes 9–12 by removing financial barriers to education. With a ₹1,250 crore budget, the scheme offers up to ₹50,000 per girl over four years—₹500/month in Classes 9–10, ₹750/month in 11–12, plus bonuses after board exams. Beneficiaries like Shreya Rabari and Riddhi Thakor are now pursuing their dreams without financial stress. For many families, it means hope, relief, and the promise of a brighter future. The scheme goes beyond aid—it's a step toward educational equity and gender empowerment in Gujarat.
