Gyanvapi case: ASI begins “scientific survey” in mosque premises amid tight security

Varanasi (UP), July 24: In a major landmark event in Gyanvapi case, scientific survey by Archaeological Survey of India begun on July 24. In view of the survey, heavy security personnel have been deployed in the area. The survey comes after a Varanasi Court on July 21 gave directions to conduct an ASI survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex. The court pronounced its order on a petition filed by the Hindu side seeking direction for a “scientific survey” of the entire Gyanvapi mosque premises. Sohan Lal Arya, petitioner in the Gyanvapi case said this is a very glorious moment and is the only solution for this case. Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi who also represents Hindu side on the Gyanvapi case said result of the survey will be favourable to us. Notably, the scientific survey in Gyanvapi mosque is being done excluding the sealed premises of the 'Wazukhana' area. Meanwhile, DCP Kashi Zone spoke on the security arrangements and said that all the security arrangements were in place.
