Srinagar, August 24 (ANI): They say ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade’, and proving all wrong while fighting the challenges of life, Sumarty Ji, a physically handicapped woman in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar has set up a milestone by not only empowering herself but others as well. She has set up her own spices factory giving employment to many people. Sumarty Ji was not born with this deformity but during her teen years, she met with a tragedy due to which her legs stopped working. Sharing her experience, she said, “Due to this tragedy, I was depressed for almost one year and also left my studies because I used to hesitate to go to school with my disability and in a wheelchair. My father always stood up by my side, he is the pillar of my strength, whatever I am today is only because of my father.” Struggling with her physical disability, Smarty Ji never gave up, she worked very hard and set up her own factory with her hard work and sheer dedication. Talking her heart out with ANI, Sumarty Ji said, “I started this idea of setting up my own factory of spices to give employment to the people who are in need. So I decided to set up the spice factory and generate employment for the needy.” So far, she has employed 10 people in her factory which she started recently. The best thing about her spices is that they are pure with no chemicals added to them. She got acknowledgement and many certificates for her achievements. Being wheelchair-bound never stopped her from achieving her dreams. In her message to the people, Sumarty Ji said, “I believe self-business is the best thing to do and my message to everyone is that don’t run after small jobs and always try to stand up on your own by establishing a business, if I can do it everyone else can do it too. In the beginning, everyone frowned upon her, and everyone wondered how she could do all this with a disability but today everyone is inspired by her doings.”
