Homeless move to night shelters in Delhi as chilly winters arrive

Dec 17, 2019

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): As temperature dipped in the national capital, the sufferers turned towards night shelters to cope with the chilly winter of Delhi. The government-supported night shelters have become heaven for homeless people. They are provided with free blankets and pillows in a night shelter near All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Cold wave intensified in Delhi after brief but heavy showers last week. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data and System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), major pollutants in Delhi's Lodhi Road area were PM 2.5 at 116 (Moderate category) and PM 10 at 91 (satisfactory category). Higher value of AQI indicates greater level of air pollution and health concern.
