IAF chopper crash: CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife succumb to injuries

Coonoor (Tamil Nadu), Dec 08 (ANI): Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife on board the IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter in Tamil Nadu, succumbed to their injuries on December 08. The information was shared by the Indian Air Force on Twitter. The helicopter carrying 14 people, including Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife, crashed in Coonoor of Tamil Nadu. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed anguish over the demise of first CDS Bipin Rawat and 11 others. On 30 December 2019, General Rawat was appointed as the first CDS of India.
