IIT Gandhinagar Introduces Future-Focused Courses in Maritime and Design

Maritime engineering is becoming crucial for global trade, logistics, and coastal security as India accelerates port-led development. With Gujarat’s strategic coastline advantage, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is set to play a key role in skill development. From 2026–27, IIT Gandhinagar will introduce an MTech in Maritime Engineering and a Master of Design programme. The MTech will focus on logistics and coastal infrastructure, while the design course will emphasise industrial design, AI-driven innovation, and entrepreneurship. Backed by industry collaboration and hands-on learning, these programmes aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing a future-ready, multidisciplinary workforce and strengthening India’s innovation and maritime ecosystem.
