India delivers third tranche of election aid to Nepal ahead of Polls

Kathmandu (Nepal), Feb 13 (ANI):India on Thursday delivered the third installment of election assistance to Nepal to support preparations for the March 5 polls.The aid package was formally handed over by Ambassador Naveen Srivastava to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal during a ceremony at the Ministry of Home Affairs.This latest tranche includes over 270 vehicles and other materials, among them 50 trucks designated for the Nepali Army, in line with Kathmandu’s request for logistical support ahead of the elections. The trucks were accepted on behalf of the army by Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel.In his address, Aryal expressed gratitude for India’s timely and substantial assistance, praising the broad and mutually beneficial partnership between the two nations, built on trust, friendship, and shared democratic principles.The first two tranches of election assistance from India including over 310 vehicles and other supplies were handed over to Nepal on January 20 and 29, 2026.
