India expects to have around 220 airports in next 5-7 years: Civil Aviation Minister

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia attended ‘Wings India 2022- A Curtain Raiser’ event on November 18. Minister of State General Vijay Kumar Singh was also in attendance. While addressing the event, Union Minister Scindia said that India expects to have around 220 airports in next 5 to 7 years. “In the last 7 years, the number of airports has been almost doubled to 136 by adding 62 more airports. Earlier, it was only 74 airports. The country expects to have around 220 airports in the next 5 to 7 years,” he added.
