India-France naval cooperation is set to gain fresh momentum as India prepares to showcase its defence industry at the upcoming Euronaval 2026 exhibition, scheduled from November 3 to 6. Guillaume Merveilleux du Vignaux, General Commissioner of Euronaval and a former Rear Admiral of the French Navy, welcomed the participation of India through its first-ever pavilion at the exhibition. Around 10 Indian companies, including shipbuilders and firms specialising in electronics, software, sensors and defence supply chains, are expected to participate. He also highlighted the longstanding India-France naval partnership, citing shared strategic interests in the Indian Ocean, joint naval exercises, equipment cooperation and interoperability. The partnership includes platforms such as Scorpène submarines and Rafale aircraft. The Indian pavilion is expected to highlight opportunities for industrial collaboration between Indian, French and other international defence companies.
