Kranti Teerth in Mandvi, Kutch, preserves an important chapter of India’s freedom struggle and Gujarat’s revolutionary heritage. The memorial recreates London’s historic India House, established by freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma, and helps visitors understand his contribution to India’s revolutionary movement. Maintained by GMDC since 2010, the memorial features the Viranjali Gallery, India House and Photo Gallery, along with guides who explain its history. The ashes of Shyamji Krishna Varma and his wife Bhanumati were brought back from Switzerland after 55 years and enshrined here with state honours. Today, Kranti Teerth serves as an important learning space for students and visitors, highlighting the courage, sacrifices and patriotism of India’s revolutionaries while inspiring younger generations to connect with the nation’s history.
