As devastating flood wreak havoc in Nepal, India’s specialised rescue team joins Nepali Army in intensive tunnel ops after floods hit hydropower sites in Chilime & Langtang. The deployment comes as security forces intensify efforts to reach workers trapped inside flood-hit underground powerhouses & tunnels after floods across Trishuli basin. The MEA confirmed that the specialised team has been integrated into local operations, working side-by-side with security personnel on the ground. In an official statement, Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said, ‘tunnel rescue team joins Nepali Army in Chilime, Langtang search ops, vowing to continue coordinated rescue efforts’. Highlighting the importance of joint operations, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava reaffirmed India's commitment to supporting Nepal's disaster response. Indian rescue experts deploy specialised tools to navigate rugged terrain, narrow gorges, rising waters and debris blocking underground access.
