In a moment of national pride, India has welcomed the return of the sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha after 127 years. The relics, believed to be the remains of Lord Buddha, were discovered in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharthnagar district in the 19th century and taken to the UK during colonial rule. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat called it a “historic and emotional moment.” PM Modi also hailed the return, reaffirming India’s spiritual legacy and its deep reverence for Buddha’s teachings.
