India’s new Drone Policy restricted import of drones from other countries: MoCA

New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Highlighting India’s growth in the drone industry, Joint Secretary of Civil Aviation Ministry Amber Dubey on May 10 said that ‘Drone Import policy’ has largely restricted the import of drones from other countries. “Growth of any sector requires policy, supply and demand. We have liberalised several policies. In August last year, forms, licenses and approvals were removed. Only basic minimums were kept,” said Dubey in interaction with ANI. “We also brought in our 'drone import policy' which largely restricted the import of drones from other countries. Components are however freely available for our own players to start making their own drones,” he added.
