Indigenous LCU MK IV class ship commissioned into Indian Navy

Visakhapatnam (AP), July 29 (ANI): Indigenously built Landing Craft Utility (LCU) MK IV class ship ‘LCU L56’ was commissioned into Indian Navy by Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Eastern Naval Command, today in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam. The ship’s primary role will be transportation, deployment and recovery of main battle tanks, troops, and equipment from ship to shore.
