J&K: Sringeri Shankracharya performs puja at Sharda temple along LoC in Kupwara

Kupwara (J&K) June 05 (ANI): Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha on June 05 visited Sharda temple near LoC Teetwal area of Kupwara district in J&K. After many decades, a designated Shankaracharya performed Abhishek Puja and Pran Pratishtha at Sharda Temple. A large number of followers and locals also took part in the function. DC Kupwara, SSP, and many other officials welcomed Sringeri Shankaracharya in Teetwal. On this occasion, Shankaracharya lauded the role of administration to save the Sharda Committee in Jammu and Kashmir. Notably, Home Minister Amit Shah on March 22 virtually inaugurated the 5000-year-old Temple, a symbol of faith of Kashmiri Pandits. Kashmiri Pandits have been continuously requesting both India, Pakistan to start a pilgrimage to Sharda Peeth.
