Kashmiri Diaspora Amplifies PoJK Concerns

Geneva, Switzerland, Bradford, UK, PoJK 15 September 2026: - Kashmiri diaspora members in Bradford have been protesting outside the Pakistani Consulate for nearly three months. Led by political activist Mahmood Kashmiri, protesters said their demonstrations are being held in solidarity with people in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They submitted a memorandum and sought dialogue with consulate officials, while saying the campaign will continue until their demands are addressed. Meanwhile, in Geneva, UKPNP Chairman Shaukat Ali Kashmiri held a conference on the Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir situation alongside the UNHRC session. He alleged that more than 100 people have been killed, hundreds injured and thousands detained since June 5 amid continuing unrest. He said lasting peace requires accountability, democratic dialogue and the inclusion of women. The protests and campaign come amid continuing unrest in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with concerns being raised by activists and diaspora groups at different platforms. From demonstrations outside the Pakistani Consulate in Bradford to discussions in Geneva, the campaign has focused on allegations of violence, detentions and repression, alongside demands for accountability, dialogue and the rights of people in PoJK.
