Dec 12, 2019

Kozhikode (Kerala), Dec 12 (ANI): 'Marine Cemetery' at Beypore Beach has been built using single-use plastic bottles. Cemeteries are commonly built for humans but in Kerala, world’s first 'Marine Cemetery' has been built for fishes. Endangered or vanished fish photos are displayed. At least 50% of beach litter is plastic waste, threatening marine life. The water pollution, overexploitation and climate change caused the extinction of 15 marine species. 'Marine Cemetery' was inaugurated on Dec 04 which is the World Wildlife Conservation Day.
