Khelo India National Winter Games conclude at Gulmarg in Kashmir

Gulmarg (J&K), Feb 14 (ANI): A 3rd edition of Khelo India National Winter Games was conducted between February 10-14 at the world-famous ski resort at Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir. It was inaugurated by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur and Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha. During the competition, various events like Ice Stocking, Ice Hockey, Bandy Curling, Bobsleighing and Skelton, Snow Shoe, Nordic, Ski Mountaineering, Alpine G Slalom, and Cross Country were held. 11 games were played and around 1,500 players from 29 states and Union Territories participated. A large number of spectators are enthusiastically supporting their teams. Winners were awarded prizes by the officers and Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council officials. A good quantity of snowfall is very important for any kind of winter sports including Skiing, Snow Cycling, Snowboarding, Ice Stocking and other sports activities. For the last few years with the help of Khelo India, a large number of youths are participating in sports and they are getting a proper platform to show their talent.
