Madurai-based MSc student claims to have developed ‘solar bike’

He is a first-year MSc student at a private college in Madurai. Dhanush claims to have developed a rechargeable solar bike. The prime USP of this bike is its battery. It gets automatically charged during a ride. This new bicycle is made with a 24V alternator. This solar bike has a belt attached to the alternator. It is capable of running 40 km after a fully charged session. If a person cycles 20 km, the battery attached to it will be fully charged. Amid rising fuel prices, this invention can be a game-changer.
