Ukhrul (Manipur), May 15 (ANI): Meet Pamchuiwon Kashak Hungyo, a 31-year-old artisan from Kamjong, Manipur, who is reviving Tangkhul traditional ornaments. What began as a hobby in 2016—crafting earrings and necklaces—has grown into a thriving business that celebrates heritage and empowers others. Despite being the second of eleven siblings and facing challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, Pamchuiwon stayed determined. Her resilience paid off in October 2024 with the launch of Tangkhul Beads preserving cultural heritage through handcrafted jewelry amid rising Korean fashion influences.Peace and development in Manipur are enabling artisans like Pamchuiwon to thrive, creating jobs for young women and preserving tradition through craftsmanship. From Kongsang necklaces to Khommasin bridal ornaments, each piece reflects Tangkhul heritage and resilience — offering hope for local talent and cultural revival.
