Mann Ki Baat: Campaign against poaching in Assam has led to reduction in rhino hunting, says PM

New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 30 said that a campaign against the poaching of rhinos was launched in the last seven years with the efforts of the Assam government and now there is a steady decrease in the hunting of rhinos in the state. Addressing the first episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ of 2022, the Prime Minister said, “In the last seven years, with the special efforts of the Government of Assam, a huge campaign was launched against the poaching of rhinos. Now there is a steady decline in the hunting of rhinos in Assam. While 37 rhinos were killed in 2013, 2 in 2020, and only 1 in 2021 have been reported.
