Mega Plantation Drive organised in South Kashmir

Kulgam (J-K), Dec 22 (ANI): A Mega Plantation Drive and an interaction with Village Panchayat Plantation Committee of Anantnag and Kulgam districts were organised by Social Forestry Division, Anantnag at Khudwani Centre of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir.Director Social Forestry Kashmir, Roshan Jaggi along with senior officers of Social Forestry Division and members of various panchayats of Anantnag and Kulgam districts participated and planted saplings. The Social Forestry Division discussed the importance of afforestation and role, besides responsibilities of department, general public and PRIs in saving the forests and creating awareness about the importance of forests for the sustenance of human race. On the occasion, the director distributed literature kits about social forestry among Village Panchayat Plantation Committee members.
