Mohd Zubair’s Lawyer denies reports of 14-day judicial custody of Alt News co-founder

New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): Hours after it was reported that Mohd Zubai’'s bail application was rejected and he was sent to 14-day judicial custody, his lawyer Soutik Banerjee denied the reports saying the judge was yet to pronounce the judgement. While Speaking to ANI, Soutik Banerjee said, “Arguments took place until lunch and judge reserved the matter for judgment. The judge hasn't come after lunch yet. Shocked to see that DCP KPS Malhotra has leaked in media that our bail plea has been rejected and 14-day judicial custody granted.” “Extremely scandalous and speaks of status of rule of law in our country today that even before judicial magistrate has sat and pronounced the order, Police has leaked the order to media. How KPS Malhotra knows what the order is beyond me. This calls for introspection,” he added.
