Mumbai: Ajit Pawar’s photos blackened, removed by NCP workers

Mumbai, July 02 (ANI): In a surprising move, NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister on July 02. Several other NCP leaders supporting Ajit Pawar also took oath as Ministers at Raj Bhawan in Mumbai. A few hours later, angry NCP workers smeared black paint on the photos of party leaders who joined the NDA Government of Maharashtra. Earlier in the day, Ajit Pawar led a vertical split in the party to become the Deputy Chief Minister. While eight other NCP leaders were sworn in as ministers in the Eknath Shinde-led govt. Ajit Pawar has the backing of more than 40 MLAs in Vidhan Sabha and more than 6 MLCs in Vidhan Parishad. Sharply reacting to his nephew’s decision, Sharad Pawar called the recent political development “robbery”. Meanwhile, party chief Sharad Pawar has convened party meeting on July 5 in Mumbai to discuss developments and future courses of action.
