Navratri festival: Devotees throng temples on ‘Maha Navami’

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Navratri is a Hindu festival where nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. The festival celebrates Goddess Durga’s triumph over ‘Asura’. On the ninth day of Navratri on October 07, devotees thronged temples in the national capital on occasion of ‘Maha Navami’ to seek blessings of the almighty on the auspicious occasion. Jhandewalan temple was decked up with full decoration as people gathered to attend the first ‘Aarti’ of the nine-day-long festivities. Several devotees also offered prayers at Kalkaji Temple in Delhi. During these nine days, devotees observe fast and perform puja.
