Nepal Flood Tragedy: Missing relatives, destroyed homes leave Nepalis in Delhi distressed

Delhi, August 26, 2026 (ANI): Amid the devastating floods in Nepal, concern and pain over their families and relatives are clearly visible among Nepali citizens living in the national capital, Delhi. Ram Sharma Paudel, a resident of Kathmandu, said that he has several friends, relatives and acquaintances in the affected areas and that he is deeply saddened. He appealed to the Nepal government to speed up rescue and search operations as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Surendra Kumar Hamal, a resident of Nuwakot, said that several of his relatives have been missing since the floods. He said that Nuwakot has suffered massive destruction and that floodwaters caused damage all the way down from Rasuwa. According to Surendra Kumar Hamal, his nephew and brother-in-law are also missing. He is currently in Delhi and plans to travel to Nepal soon to assess the damage. These statements clearly convey the concern of affected families, the search for missing people, and the call for faster relief operations.
