Nepali Activists Call for Calm Amid Rising Tensions, Protest at Pakistan Embassy
May 10, 2025
Kathmandu (Nepal) , May 10 (ANI): Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, around a dozen Nepali human rights and peace activists held a peaceful protest near the Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu. They urged both nations to de-escalate the situation and called on Pakistan to stop sheltering terrorists. The activists also attempted to submit a memorandum, which, according to them, was declined by the embassy. Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri strongly condemned Pakistan for deliberately targeting civilian sites along the LoC, including religious places like gurdwaras, churches, and temples. On May 7, a shell from Pakistan killed two students near Christ School in Poonch. Pakistan also launched Hamas-style rocket attacks following India’s Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
