Kathmandu (Nepal), May 22 (ANI): Nepal’s record-holding climber Kami Rita Sherpa, popularly known as the “Everest Man,” has called for a cap on permits issued for climbing Mount Everest as overcrowding continues to impact the world’s tallest peak. He received a heroic welcome upon returning to Kathmandu after scripting history once again. Earlier this month, Kami Rita Sherpa successfully scaled the 8,848.86-metre-high Everest for a record 32nd time, surpassing his own achievement for the highest number of ascents of the world’s highest mountain. Born in Solukhumbu’s Thame village in 1970, Kami Rita Sherpa first summited Mount Everest in 1994 and has spent over two decades guiding climbers on the world’s tallest peak. Beginning his mountaineering journey as Everest support staff in 1992, he later went on to scale Everest a record 32 times, besides conquering peaks like K2, Cho Oyu, Lhotse and Manaslu.
