NIT Srinagar hosts KATHE 2026-AI Challenge to develop English-To-Kashmiri Translation Solutions

Srinagar, Aug 27, 2026 (ANI): NIT Srinagar, Organised by Gaash Lab, in collaboration with University of Kashmir hosted a KATHE 2026- national-level Artificial Intelligence in Srinagar. It aimed to develop innovative solutions for English-to-Kashmiri machine translation and promoting the use of AI technologies for preservation. It can also expand the language’s presence in rapidly developing AI ecosystem and also feature expert lectures and interactive sessions covering AI. Hosted on Kaggle platform, KATHE 2026 provides participants an opportunity to develop, test and evaluate machine translation models. KATHE 2026 also seen as an important initiative towards making Kashmiri more visible in the digital and artificial intelligence landscape.
