Mumbai, July 02 (ANI): In a surprising move, NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Maharashtra’s 2nd Deputy Chief Minister on July 02. Several other NCP leaders supporting Ajit Pawar also took oath as Ministers at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. The major political coup in Maharashtra comes days after war of words between NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Dy CM Fadnavis. Sharply reacting to his nephew’s decision, Sharad Pawar called the recent political development is “robbery”. Last month, Maharashtra Dy CM had said that he will “deliver a googly” to make Sharad Pawar to “speak truth”. Ajit Pawar has backing of over NCP 40 MLAs and more than 6 MLCs, according to sources. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said that the double-engine government has now become triple-engine.
