Odisha’s water revolution, building a water-secure future

Odisha is building a water-secure future through large-scale irrigation, water infrastructure and conservation. Under CM Mohan Charan Majhi’s leadership, the state has created 3.28 lakh hectares of assured irrigation potential, inaugurated 115 water projects, added and revived thousands of irrigation structures, and invested over ₹27,379 crore in the water resources sector. With river-linking, flood management and canal renovation planned next, Odisha is turning water management into a long-term strategy for farmers, livelihoods and resilient development.
