Open letter to PM Modi on mob lynchings is not seditious: Shyam Benegal on FIR against 49 celebrities

Mumbai, Oct 07 (ANI): Reacting to the FIR lodged against 49 celebrities who wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 'growing culture' of mob lynchings, acclaimed filmmaker Shyam Benegal, who is among the 49 members of film fraternity, said the letter written to PM Modi does not act as a threat to anyone or amount to as sedition, adding that if a follow up action takes place to the police complaint then it would challenge freedom of expression in the country.
