Orange festival kicks off in Imphal

Imphal (Manipur), Dec 18 (ANI): The 16th state-level orange festival cum Centenary Celebration began in Manipur’s Imphal on December 17. The festival is taking place in Tamenglong of Imphal. People gathered in large numbers at the public ground of Tamenglong to enjoy the tangy display of oranges. The festival will continue for three-days. Orange festival is organised by District Administration of Tamenglong under the sponsorship of North Eastern Council and Government of Manipur. Around 370 farmers are participating in the orange festival. Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1 lakh and Rs 75,000 will be awarded to first, second and third prize winners in the orange competition. Rs 10,000 each will also be given to all the participating orange growers.
