Pakistani woman gets Indian citizenship after 35 years of marriage

Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 06 (ANI): A woman hailing from Pakistan and married to an Indian citizen was granted Indian citizenship after 35 years of her marriage. Zubaida Begum was granted Indian citizenship last week. While speaking to ANI, Zubaida Begum said, “We ran from pillar to post, in Lucknow and Delhi. Now, I feel good. I should have been granted this earlier. Meanwhile, Inspector of Local Intelligence Unit (LIU), Naresh Kumar said, “She got married in 1985 and applied for Indian nationality in 1994. When she completed seven years on the basis of her LTV (Long Term Visa), the process began. On the basis of her conduct, she was granted Indian citizenship last week.”
